On August 29-31, a homiletic (preaching) course seminar was held in the church center of the village of Petrodolynske for the ministers of GELCU. This course is designed both for experienced ministers of the Church and for those who are just planning to become a preacher
During three days, the participants of the seminar discussed the key stages of preparation for the sermon: analyzing the audience, working with texts, using biblical quotations and relevant illustrations. In addition, they dissected each other’s sermon notes to get qualified feedback and practiced writing mini-sermons for prayer services.
“We studied various forms of sermons and appeals, prayed and exchanged experiences of serving God and people. We thank God for His blessings!” – writes Pastor Oleksandr Gross.
GELCU will continue conducting seminars on homiletics to improve the quality of preaching service in communities.
