Another stage of the “Bread for Life” project, implemented in Kharkiv region with the support of the Lutheran World Federation in Ukraine and the charitable foundation Diakonia Ukraine, has been completed.
As part of the project, 150 families in difficult life circumstances in the communities of Zlatopil and Blyzniuky received assistance three times. Each payment consisted of an ATB retail chain certificate worth UAH 1,400, which families could use at their own discretion to purchase food or hygiene products.
The idea of the project is not only to provide material support, but also to give people the opportunity to determine their most urgent needs for themselves. For many recipients, this became a chance to buy meat and fish products, treat their children to sweets, replenish their supplies of cereals and canned food, purchase essential hygiene products, as well as fresh vegetables and fruit.

Despite the relatively short implementation period, the project had a noticeable positive impact on the lives of local communities and became an important source of support for many families.
In addition, the Kharkiv Lutheran congregation of the Holy Ascension provided residents of the communities with several hundred pairs of warm winter socks and dozens of LED lamps. This assistance was part of a humanitarian shipment provided by the Lutheran congregation of Murska Sobota, Slovenia.

Thanks to a private donation from Pastor Wolfgang Krautmacher, libraries of the Blyzniuky territorial community also received five sets of books from Portal Publishing House for children and adults.
The work continues. The second part of the project, aimed at supporting another 150 families, is currently being implemented in the city of Shostka, Sumy region.
We sincerely thank all partners and donors who help support people during this difficult time. This brings hope and a sense of care to those who need it most.
