For the first time since the beginning of full-scale war in Ukraine, a concert was held in the premises of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Odessa. On May 15, the Chamber Orchestra of the Odessa Opera House performed within its walls, under the direction of the Honored Artist of Ukraine, conductor Igor Chernetsky, and the leading soloists of the Theater: Yulia Tereshchuk (soprano), Marina Godulyan (mezzo-soprano) and Kirill Ustin. During a concert program called “Ad libitum. Echo of the Baroque”, sounded the reference music of the era: Vivaldi, Pergolesi and Bortnyansky.

This concert was the first of a cycle planned in cooperation with the Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. On May 22, a concert performance of K. Gluck’s opera “Orpheus” is planned, and on May 29 – a concert of baroque music “Ad libitum. Baroque gala”.

The holding of these concerts marks the revival of not only spiritual, but also cultural life among Odessa Lutherans.
